KAA Partners with CAB®
for Annual Carcass Data Project

The 2012 Carcass Data Project (CDP) is designed for Kansas Angus Association (KAA) members that may not have enough steers to make a whole pen at a commercial feed yard but want retain ownership and collect individual carcass data on their steers or for members that may want to feed a few head and compete for recognition as the 2012 CDP winner. To participate in the project producers must enter a minimum of five spring born steers weaned at least 45 days prior to delivery. Steers must be out of a registered Angus bull and have a known sire or sire group. An approved vaccination program as well as having individual identification tags is also required.
The Carcass Data Project (CDP) is sponsored by the Kansas Angus Association and Certified Angus Beef, LLC (CAB).
Carcass data information will include: fat thickness at the 12th/13th rib, marbling score, quality grade, ribeye area, and yield grade CAB is willing to put up to $ 1000 in cash for the winners and all participants will receive CAB logo travel mugs, steak knives or wind shirts.” (Amount of cash awards offered are dependent on number of head in the CDP. 30-35 head $350; 36- 50 head $500; 51-65 head $750; 66+ $1000. Cash awards will be divided between at least the top two placings.)
The annual Carcass Data Project (CDP) gets underway in December. Entries are due December 12, $5 per head entry fee payable to the Ks Angus Association. Participants are responsible for delivery/transportation to McPherson County Feeders.

Participants must be members of the Ks Angus Association ( new members welcome)

Spring 2010 born steers, out of registered Angus bulls and from a known sire or sire group.

Individually tagged at farm/ranch, with different numbers.
