​KANSAS ANGUS AUXILIARY ANGUS FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Kansas Angus Auxiliary Endowment Scholarship (through the Angus Foundation) is pleased to support youth education and will offer college scholarships to qualified applicants annually, for which no equivalent work is required. Scholarship  established in 2023. First award in 2024.
   
Application due April 1 annually
Application and supporting documentation must be submitted online using the linked form 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Eligibility:
1.     Applicants must be a sophomore/junior/senior/graduate student or those going into their final year of Applicants must be a sophomore/junior/senior/graduate student or those going into their final year of undergraduate or accredited program.
2.     Applicants can be attending a trade school/junior college/university or degreed program such as nursing/vo-tech
3.     Applicants must have been a member of the Kansas Junior Angus Association and the National Junior Angus Association. If the applicant is no longer a KJAA member, they must have membership with the Kansas Angus Association.
4.     The applicant’s parents must be members of the Kansas Angus Association.
5.     The applicant cannot have reached their 23rd birthday prior to the year of the application.
6.     The applicant must be a full-time student.
7.     The scholarship is applicable to any field of study.
8.     Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (accumulative) on a 4.0 scale to be eligible.
 
APPLICATION DEADLINE: APRIL 1. Applications must be submitted on-line and received by the Scholarship Chairperson no later than April 1st of the current year. Application must be submitted by 11:59 pm CST April 1 (current year). Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted or evaluated.

PROCEDURES/Guidelines
  • Use the online (Google Form) Scholarship Application Form only.  https://forms.gle/F56Boe3fVsbkVygc9
  • All supporting documentation must be uploaded on the form. PDF files preferred. 
  • Applications must be submitted on-line and received by the Scholarship Chairperson no later than April 1st of the current year. Application must be submitted by 11:59 pm CST April 1 (current year) Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted or evaluated.
  • Upon receipt, the applications will be reviewed by the KS Angus Auxiliary Scholarship Committee
  • Scholarship recipient(s) will be announced at the KJAA Preview Show in June
  • A check will be awarded to the winner(s) after he/she presents evidence of enrollment as a full-time student in accordance with the guidelines. Enrollment requirements due by September 30th of the year awarded. Proof of enrollment must be sent to the KS Angus Auxiliary Treasurer.
  • Enrollment in an accredited or approved institution of higher education for the fall term as a full-time student

  • Gather all documents for upload before completing application- PDF files of documents preferred. 
  • Upload each supporting document in section 5 of the online application. 
  • A complete copy of the applicant’s current school transcripts
  • Current proof of enrollment/current semester class schedule accepted.
  • Three (3) letters of reference:
Each letter must be from a different background area. School/4-H/FFA/Church/Angus/Employer
No letters from parents or American Angus Association employees; Letters of recommendation must be current (year of application)

The following questions are intended to provide added insight into the applicant’s personal experiences. No applicant will be discriminated against on the basis of personal relations, nor on the basis of race, sex or religion.
  • Father’s occupation
  • Mother’s occupation
  • Number of siblings.
  • Are you currently married?
  • How many head of Registered Angus cattle are owned by your family?
  • Number of Registered Angus owned by you?
  • Number Commercial or other breeds of cattle.
Briefly describe other livestock or farming operations your and /or your family is involved in.
 
Academic Information: 10 points

  • Name of high school attended and Graduation year.
  • College/University/ Vo-Tech/Trade School
  • Major area of study and Projected grad date
  • Current status (sophomore/junior/senior, etc.), Current GPA

 
Questions
  • Questions 1, 2,3,4 - may be answered in list form.
  • Questions 5,6,7,8- should be answered in paragraph form.

1.     4-H, FFA and other agricultural related groups – 10 points
2.     Community, church, civic, school, professional organizations – 10 points
3.     Angus Involvement: non-show activities, association leadership, honors and awards earned, contributions made. – 15 points
4.     Angus Showring Achievements and Awards – 10 points
5.     Briefly summarize your experience in livestock production, marketing, judging and any other aspect of the livestock industry. – 10 points
6.     How has Angus and/or agriculture helped to influence your life or career pathway? – 10 points
7.     Describe a positive moment in your life that has influenced a decision, choice or participation - 150 words or less. – 10 points
8.     Briefly describe your ambitions/goals/future plans/career path. – 15 points
